TWICKENHAM BEER FESTIVAL COMMITTEE JOB DESCRIPTIONS
We are seeking to appoint a new/trainee core festival committee by the end of the festival in October 2008. I you would like to know more please contact our Chairman Brian Kirton. If no one comes forward by October this year there will be no more Twickenham beer festivals after 2009.
1. Main festival Organiser. In overall charge of the festival. Must be available throughout the year to liaise with York House, CAMRA HQ, local authorities, police and so on. Also chairs and oversees Festival Organising Committees from April onwards. Event Organisation Experience and Communication Skills would be useful.
2. Treasurer. In overall charge of the festival budget, beer ordering, glasses ordering, site/scaffold booking, etc. During festival in charge of floats, cash office, banking etc. Liaises with HQ for temporary loans, receives/pays invoices, prepares full accounts for verification by auditor & arranges Public Liability Insurances. Basic accounting/business skills useful.
3. Site Manager/Assistant Festival Organiser.
Assist/deputise for main festival organiser when needed. Takes full responsibility for ordering/checking stock for the Products Stand. During Festival organises stewards, site security, products stand and all transport. Multi-skilled person useful here.
4. Publicity Officer.
Arrange pre and post-festival publicity with the press. Print/Distribute pre-festival flyers and posters. Print/Distribute landlord invitations and publicity packs for local pubs. Print all posters needed to ensure smooth running of festival. IT Skills needed.

5. Staffing /Health and Safety Officer. (This 5th committee post may also become vacant in a year or so)
Pre-festival distribute/collect staffing forms, ensure enough staff available. During festival take total charge of staff organisation/job designations. Keep full staff records for future use. Ensure staff abide by Health and Safety Rules. Ensure that the Festival Health and Safety plan is up-to-date and signed off as necessary. People Skills/Health and Safety knowledge useful.
